Game Recap

On Mon. 10/30, the RHS Girls Volleyball team played a make-up match at Mount Alvernia HS in Newton. Mount Alvernia defeated Randolph by a score of 3-2. The scores of the sets were: 19-25, 25-16, 25-21, 14-25, and 10-15. Both teams played well as the match went back and forth throughout. Mount Alvernia took the first set but the Lady Devils took sets 2 and 3. For Randolph, Junior MH Vanessa Mathelier had 10 kills and 7 blocks. Junior MH Crystal Orofo had 6 kills and 10 service points. “Vanessa and Crystal have been so consistent at the net all year.” Sophomore Setter Jendayah Smith came off the bench to give the Lady Devils 5 service points and 5 assists. Senior OH Julie Evangelista had 10 set ups and 7 service points. Junior OH Binh Diec had 9 service points and 8 set ups. Senior Libero Tu Uyen Nguyen had 12 set ups and 10 digs. “Everyone on this team played hard and I was proud of the way the team stayed together and competed.”
The Lady Devils finish the regular season with 11 wins and 7 losses. The 11 wins is the most wins for the Girls Volleyball team. The team now waits for the tournament schedule to see and who they will play.
