On Thur. 10/19, the Randolph High School Girls Volleyball team clinched a birth in the MIAA State Tournament by defeating Atlantis Charter HS by a score of 3-0. The Randolph Lady Devils make the post season tournament for the second time. The scores of the sets were: 25-13, 25-22, and 25-19. It was a special night, as 6 Seniors were recognized before the match. They were Chim Ihunwo, Jenny Prime, Francesca Belval, Natalie Le, Julie Evangelista and Tu Uyen Nguyen. For Randolph, Junior OH Binh Diec had 7 on target serve receive passes, 4 kills, and 15 service points. Senior OH Julie Evangelista had 8 on target serve receive passes and 13 service points. Junior MH Vanessa Mathelier had 9 kills and 5 blocks. Senior Libero Tu Uyen Nguyen recorded another double double with 11 set-ups and 10 digs. “I’m so proud and happy for the seniors today as their goal from the pre-season was to make the tournament and they accomplished that. It would really be exciting for our team to host a tournament game here at Randolph HS.”
The next match for the Lady Devils is on Wed. 10/25 at Cathedral HS. at 5:00pm. Team record is now 9 wins and 6 losses.
